The port has a lively lemon color with green reflections. The scent is rich and complex and dominated by floral aromas and fruit. This port has a silky smooth taste, with fine fresh acids that provide a good balance in the wine.

Domain
The family name 'Burmester' comes from the German word „Burgmeester“ (Mayor) - as the family came from the small town of Moelln in northern Germany. In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash established a grain trading business in London under the name Burmester & Nash. In 1750 the company moved to Vila Nova de Gaia and started shipping Port to the British Isles and the rest of Europe. The company was very active in London. The commercial and financial activities of the Burmester family were highly valued in London. For example, the most famous street in the Wimbledon district is 'Burmester Road'.

Soil
Sandstone, alternating with granite in some places.

Exhibition
The vineyards are planted on slopes up to an altitude of 600 m.

Vinification
The grapes are destemmed, crushed and turned into wine through prolonged maceration to preserve the aromas. When the right degree of sweetness is achieved, grape brandy is added.

Delicious
Very tasty as an aperitif, but this port is also very suitable with roasted almonds, dried fruit, fresh figs and salads.
